On Friday 21st October our Year 12 EESW students visited Canton Train Depot to get a feel for the scale of the depot and maintenance procedures. The team were privileged to climb aboard a brand new Stadler class 231 Train – a fleet of these have recently been imported from Switzerland and are undergoing vital checks before going into service. The students were impressed, saying that it was “like being on a spaceship!”. Thanks to our Transport for Wales Trains link engineer Tom Parker for showing the team the ropes. The team left with plenty of ideas for the next steps in the project.
