Debating develops the valuable skills of lucid communication, formulating and substantiating a coherent argument and challenging opposing viewpoints.
Debating is an excellent preparation for university and job interviews where you are required to think on your feet, and for many career paths, including law, politics and teaching. At HCC we hold internal debates in a variety of formats, and participate in a range of national competitions, including the CEWC competition, Debating matters and the Oxford and Cambridge Schools’ Competitions.
