Scholarships

A scholarship is an award that recognises students who are outstanding in one or more fields. For many of our scholars, this award serves primarily as an acknowledgement of their achievements; they have a modest financial award, usually to a value of 5% of the College fees. A Howell’s scholarship is highly regarded, and will be declared on all references, including UCAS. They can be referred to by students in employment applications.

As well as academic scholarships, additional scholarships are awarded to recognise talent and achievement in Art, Drama, Music, Product Design and Sport.

A student may apply for more than one scholarship (e.g. Academic and Music and Art).

Bursaries

Bursaries are means-tested and provide financial assistance to cover school fees to enable suitably qualified students, whose parents could not otherwise afford the fees, to enter the College. The amount varies according to family circumstances; they can be worth up to 100% of fees. The GDST website outlines the criteria the Trust use in their assessment of eligibility.

It is essential for anyone wishing to explore financial support options contacts the Admissions Officer well in advance of the proposed date of admission. This will enable the greatest chance of being considered for the funds that we have available.
