It certainly was feeling a lot like Christmas at Howell’s on Friday 30th November when we kicked off the festive season in style with the Howell’s Christmas Fair which took place in the Sports Hall, Drama Room and Day Room. More than 50 stalls, including many run by Howell’s students, were set up the afternoon, and students, parents, grandparents, staff, alumni, governors and friends enjoyed visiting the wide selection of stalls. Father Christmas parked his sleigh in the Drama Room, and the long queue of children were all delighted to whisper their Christmas wishes to him. The Christmas Café, run by a wonderful team of parent volunteers, was a huge hit with visitors who stopped off for a drink and cake. The cakes were all generously provided by students, parents and staff. Howell’s XL radio station was in attendance throughout the afternoon, broadcasting a selection of Christmas tunes and interviews with students and staff. Many thanks to the Mrs Eling, parents, students and stall holders for all they did to make it such a special occasion.
