Our College Lecture Programme digs deep

Our College Lecture Programme kicked off this week with the first lecture titled "An Introduction to Archaeology: The Bamburgh Research Project," delivered by our very own Mrs Sadler. The lecture captivated the attention of many of our Academic and Honorary Scholars who chose to attend.

During her presentation, Mrs Sadler shared her firsthand experiences of participating in an archaeological dig within the historic Bamburgh Castle. Her insights left the audience inspired and eager to get involved themselves. Mrs. Sadler's narrative took the audience on a journey, beginning with iconic figures like Indiana Jones and Howard Carter, before delving into the ongoing excavations at the Bowl Hole and St Oswald's Gate sections of the castle.

Mrs Sadler presented a really fascinating lecture, with a combination of physical effort, academic imagination and scientific scrutiny. After the lecture, several students stayed behind to inquire about future opportunities to volunteer on this exciting dig.
