Fran C and Izzy H in Year 12 attended a Law Enrichment Day at Cardiff University as a follow up to the National Sixth Form Moot in Wales. They watched the semi-finals and final of the National Sixth Form Moot in Wales, Izzy participated in the Moot but unfortunately did not make it through. The standard of the competition was amazing, and it was interesting to see other teams' presentations and legal arguments.
Fran ad Izzy listened to a panel of current and previous barristers who talked about their time in criminal law. It was useful to get an insight into what they did every day and it reinforced their desire to study law at university. They also went to talks on the different pathways into law and tax avoidance. The tax avoidance session was interesting as it explained how big companies get around legislation to avoid paying taxes e.g., Apple and Amazon. Izzy and Fran are looking forward to taking part next year.
