Year 12 French students speak to author Delphine de Vigan

As part of their French study, Year 12 had the great pleasure of speaking to the French author Delphine de Vigan who enlightened them on so many aspects of the novel No et Moi. The book has been translated into 30 languages and is studied by students in France, but until we asked her to talk to our students, she had no idea that it was also part on the A-level French curriculum. It was fascinating to hear how she studied the topic of homelessness at length prior to writing the story whilst gaining a better understanding of their plight. She shared some more personal autobiographical elements that made their way into the book and explained the reasons behind her choice of an ending. Madame Jourdren , Lucas, Alice and Gabriella had a memorable and personal experience interviewing the famous author who gave her time so graciously during lockdown.
