We are delighted and proud to share that Year 13 students Dag Y and Restam A represented Howell's College at the Welsh Schools Debating Championships on Monday 18th March at the Temple of Peace, Cardiff.
Dag and Restam won the first round against Cardiff Sixth Form College and met Coleg Menai in the second round where they clinched the title in a hotly contested debate.
In the team rounds, students develop the ability to think critically from moment to moment, working on a motion that they had been given a short time before, and anticipating the potential arguments that the other team might put forward. Dag and Restam showcased their skills and went on to win.
This is a prestigious event which Howell's last won in 2006. Dag and Restam now go forward to challenge the English and Scottish teams representing Wales in the National finals. Good luck to them both.
