Congratulations to our Year 12 public speakers, who competed in the Rotary Youth Speaks Senior Competition last Thursday 16th January at Llanishen High School. Their topic explored whether or not political issues such as gender inequality, sexuality and mental health should be included in children’s literature. Kate M chaired the meeting in which Alice B proposed the motion and Frances DT opposed it. Alice began in age old fairy-tale fashion with the words 'Once upon a time' and flagged up her conclusion with a smile using the phrase 'The end'! Although not winning the round this year, the team was praised by the judges and Frances was awarded best opposer for the night.
