On Monday 18th March, sixteen Year 12, students along with Mrs Harrison-Hughes and Mrs Wilks, attended the Oxford and Cambridge Student Conference in the Liberty Stadium in Swansea. As well as guidance on careers, finance, student life and making a competitive application, the 20 or so subject specific sessions gave students the chance to hear from current tutors and students to help make that all-important course choice. Dylan P said “The conference allowed for a seemingly vital look into the subject application requirements and more importantly a taster of what would be to come if we got in to Oxbridge. The English lecture I found to be particularly intellectually engaging with the discussion of two poems where the lectures attempted to stretch our minds, even for a short period, in their analysis. Overall I found the day to be highly informative as well as enjoyable. I left feeling more confident and excited to apply.”
