Carols in the Cathedral December 2019

On Wednesday 11th December, the services of nine lessons and carols, a highlight in the Howell’s calendar, took place in the stunning surroundings of Llandaff Cathedral and the torrential rain certainly didn’t dampen the spirit of the performers or audiences. The congregations were treated to stellar performances from the College Choir, Orchestra, Senior Choir, Wind Ensemble and Youth Choir. Mr Thomas pulled out all the stops while accompanying the congregational carols, which reached the highest points of the cathedral roof. In the afternoon, girls from Years 5 and 6 gave us lovely performances of Un Seren and Bells Ring Out. During the evening the JCC (Junior Competition Choir) entertained everyone with rousing renditions of The Holly and the Ivy and Angel Carol. Students, staff and governors read the nine lessons and we are very grateful to them all. Thank you to Miss Edwards, the music department and all the staff and students involved.
